Set up payouts with Stripe Connect

Connect a bank account through Stripe so TEAM Solutions can pay your rebate after the event. Here is what each status means.

For event organizersUpdated

Before you start

  • Your organization is approved. Payment Settings stays locked until it is.
  • Your organization's legal details, its tax ID and the US bank account that should receive payouts. Stripe asks for these.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Open Payment Settings

    SettingsPayment Settings

Go to Settings, then Payment Settings. The Stripe Connect card shows your current status.

  2. Step 2: Start or continue with Stripe

Click Connect with Stripe the first time, or Complete Setup to pick up where you left off. Stripe opens in the same tab.

  3. Step 3: Finish every step Stripe asks for

Stripe asks for your organization, a representative and the bank account for payouts. When you finish, Stripe sends you back to Payment Settings.

  4. Step 4: Check your status

The badge reads Pending while Stripe checks your details, then Connected. Reload the page, or use the refresh button beside the main button, to see the latest status.

What each status means

The badge on the Stripe Connect card in SettingsPayment Settings tells you where your setup stands.

  • Not Connected: there is no Stripe account for your organization yet. Click Connect with Stripe to start.
  • Pending: you started setup, or Stripe is still checking what you sent. Click Complete Setup to finish any open steps.
  • Restricted: Stripe needs more information before it can send payouts. The page lists exactly what under Additional Information Required. Click Complete Setup to provide it.
  • Connected: Stripe has verified your account and it can receive payouts. View Stripe Dashboard opens your account on Stripe.

When Stripe still needs anything, the card lists it under Additional Information Required, in plain words such as "Bank account for payouts" or "Company tax ID (EIN)".

Reminders

Until your account is connected, your dashboard shows a card asking you to set up payouts. It turns into a confirmation once Stripe connects your account.

When an event of yours that is contracted or live starts within 30 days and your account is not connected yet, an admin of your organization also gets a reminder email, at most once every 7 days.

What happens next

Once you are connected there is nothing else to do. After your event, hotels reconcile their stays and TEAM Solutions sends your rebate. See How your rebate is calculated and paid.

Common questions

What does Restricted mean?

Stripe needs more information before it can send money to your account. Payment Settings lists exactly what under Additional Information Required. Click Complete Setup and give Stripe those details. Payouts wait until the status reads Connected.

Stripe setup links expire. When yours has, Stripe sends you back to Payment Settings, which shows Session expired. Click Complete Setup to get a fresh link and continue.

When is my rebate paid?

After your event is completed, which happens once its end date has passed and every hotel has reconciled its reservations. TEAM Solutions then approves your payout and sends it to your connected Stripe account.

Why do I need a Stripe account?

Your rebate is paid as a transfer to your organization's connected Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank. Stripe asks for the business and bank details it needs to verify your organization before it can receive money.

Who in my organization should set this up?

Anyone in your organization can start it from Payment Settings. Stripe asks for your organization's legal, tax and bank details, so it is easiest for the person who has them.

Why am I getting payout setup reminders?

An event of yours that is contracted or live starts within 30 days, and your Stripe account is not connected yet. An admin of your organization gets a reminder at most once every 7 days until it is.
